While Barry Soetoro’s family lavish themselves at a luxury Spanish resort amidst deepening economic turmoil, back home Obama’s political dynasty crashes and burns as his approval ratings plunge to a record low of 41 per cent with less than a few months to go before the October midterm elections.
Obama has come under widespread criticism for preaching austerity and financial discipline even as his wife Michelle suns herself at an opulent resort in the Costa del Sol region while parading around in expensive designer clothing.
As the economy worsens and top financial experts openly talk of American entering a second great depression, Obama’s approval ratings continue to head south in a hurry.
As we exposed in the Obama Deception, the manufactured populist euphoria behind the crowning of Soetoro was always likely to rapidly deflate once it became apparent that Obama was the ultimate puppet, a vacuous servant of the bankers and the elite to whom he owes his entire political dynasty.
Just 41 per cent approved of the way Obama was handling the job in a recent USA TODAY/Gallup Poll, the lowest figure since Soetoro took office in January 2009.
Similarly, questions over Soetoro’s dubious origins have not abated. According to a recent CNN poll, 43 per cent of Americans think Obama was definitely or probably not born in the United States.
For someone whose political career is so obviously sinking out of sight, Obama seems remarkably relaxed about it, an ominous portend that the people who pull his strings have lined up a helpful pre-election surprise as a means of rallying the American people back around their fallen commander in chief.
On one side of the scale, some are speculating that Obama could announce a gigantic bailout of Main Street in the form of debt relief for millions of Americans whose homes are now worth less than their mortgages. This promised giveaway would likely reinvigorate support for Obama from the millions of gullible idiots who voted for him in the first place while proclaiming that all their problems would be solved by a Christ-like Obama who would pay their mortgage and gas bills.
Of course, the rhetoric behind any such giveaway would be fantastic enough to buy votes in the short term, but the reality behind such a program would soon disintegrate in the aftermath of the midterms.
However, on the extreme end of the scale some are warning, or even advocating, that Obama will launch an attack on Iran and risk setting off world war three as a ploy through which to keep himself in power. Just as the 9/11 attack saw Bush’s approval ratings soar into the 90′s, rallying Americans around an external threat could be just the ticket for an administration that has completely polarized the country and whose actions have led to the creation of fierce political opposition groups like the Tea Party.

There can be little doubt that unless an artificially engineered “surprise event” helps Obama turn things around, the losses for the Democrats will be drastic.
As Bruce Drake points out today, “The party that controls the White House usually loses House seats in the off-year contests and the losses are bigger when the President’s job approval rating is below 50 percent.”
In 1994, when President Bill Clinton’s approval rating stood at 46 per cent, Republicans picked up 53 seats to recapture the House after it had been in Democratic hands for most of the previous 40 years.
The next three months will provide a clear answer as to whether Barry Soetoro’s teleprompter reading days are over, or if there is to be a dramatic sting in the tail that will preserve Obama’s political capital for just enough longer to give him a shot at staying in the White House for another term.

General Motors filed for its initial public offering today, hoping to shed its “Government Motors” moniker. GM is expected to raise $10 billion to $15 billion, issuing both preferred and common equity. The common stock will come directly from the GM’s current owners. The U.S. government, GM’s largest shareholder, owns 60.83% of the company. The United Auto Workers union owns 19.9%.
IPO pricing is inflated beyond all reason. Inflating the price of a company whose existence is purely a political phenomenon sounds like it ought to produce a bad outcome for investors. You’d have to be extra crazy to buy GM at the IPO. Do you really want to share ownership with the government and the union? Even if the government sells its entire stake (which is unlikely), Daniel Akerson, a GM board member appointed by OBAMA!, will become CEO on September 1. And the union had a large hand in running GM into the ground in the first place.
GM was special. It was an American icon. For decades, it enjoyed a sterling reputation. I love the old Corvettes and Camaros from the company’s heyday. But now that reputation is destroyed. And because the “new” GM pays no dividend, there’s no incentive to hold the stock at all.
GM shouldn’t even exist. It should have been broken into pieces and liquidated in bankruptcy, not seized by the government and unions. GM shares will never be worth owning again. Whether the stock goes up or down, I can’t predict. But I know which direction it should to go: down, down, down.
GM is a perfect example of government perpetuating a failed idea. Government and academia do this sort of thing every day. Academics cling to bad ideas for their entire careers because nobody cares if those ideas work in the real world, least of all the tenured academic himself! It’s not hard to believe Komrade Obama was a university professor. He reminds us of the old joke about the French bureaucrat, who was often heard to say, “Sure, that’s a great idea in the real world, but it’ll never work on paper.”
The timing of this IPO is suspiciously political. Coming into the November elections, the OBAMA! administration wants to show America its financial policies (bailouts) over the last three years are working. A profitable (though only for one year), restructured, and publicly owned GM is a good symbol of that.
But the government can’t possibly expect to get its money back with an IPO in such a topsy-turvy and increasingly weak market. For the government to recoup its entire “investment” in GM, the company would need a market value of $70 billion. That’s 10 times GM’s market cap before it entered bankruptcy protection in June 2009. And it’s $30 billion more than Ford’s current market cap (which has already increased 700% since early 2009).
Today’s unemployment numbers confirm OBAMA! supporters’ worst fears… The president can’t magically give them jobs, homes, and cars. Jobless claims rose to 500,000 last week – the highest in nine months. Government cannot “create” anything. At least, it can’t create anything it doesn’t steal from someone else first.

The battle over the proposed mosque and community center near Ground Zero has sparked outrage and fury.
The argument from those who oppose it: it’s an incredibly insensitive move designed to deliberately provoke the nation from a radical Imam who says the U.S. is culpable for the attacks of 9/11. They’re correct.
What’s surprising is the level of outrage from the other side — mostly those on the left – who argue we must allow the building of the mosque and community center in the name of tolerance of Islam. Where are these shrieking voices in defense when other religions like Christianity and Judaism are under attack?
There has always been a double standard when it comes to understanding and explaining the Muslim religion verses Christianity.
While many Muslim countries ban women from voting, driving a car, and threaten to kill anyone who speaks of Christ within their borders, you rarely hear those on the left invoke sharp criticism or shake their finger in fury.
Instead, they save the attacks and their selective attention span for the random “Christian” who blocks an abortion clinic.
When the radical Islamic Fort Hood shooter claimed the life of twelve soldiers, the media dubbed him “troubled.”
A CNN.com article, along with many others, only identified him an “Army psychologist” and failed to make any reference to his ties to radical jihadism or make initial references to his religion – even after e-mails were found detailing his extremist views.
But when a Michigan-based militia group was indicted in an alleged plot to kill law enforcement officers with improvised explosive devices they were quickly – and inaccurately – labeled as a “Christian militia group” – not just in the body of an ABC News.com article, but in the headline, too.
In his book “Persecution: How Liberals Are Waging War Against Christianity,” David Limbaugh details the double standard: The media portrays Christians as unreasonable and violent, charging them with violent acts against abortionists, abortion clinics or homosexuals while at the same time both Hollywood and the press downplay injustices and violent acts committed against Christians.
A favorite media tactic is the use of the pejorative term “religious right” to describe Christian conservatives, implying such believers are “intolerant” and “backwoods fanatics.”
It’s no big deal when newspapers dub Christians “The American Taliban.” And it’s okay for Ted Turner to call Catholics with ashes on their head “Jesus freaks.” But God forbid you refer to the guys crashing the planes into building as Allah freaks.
Comedian and commentator Dennis Miller offered an accurate explanation for why the left and the mainstream media seek to appease the Muslim community and have been defending the Ground Zero mosque so ardently on an August 4 episode of “The O’Reilly Factor”: “People are afraid to say anything about radical Islam because they get blown up.”
Instead of staying true to our values so that we don’t let the terrorists win, many Americans (the president included) are shackled by fear or a belief that the nicer we are, the less they’ll come after us. They speak out on discrimination and freedom, except when it comes to defending Christianity.
That’s why the fervent defense of the Ground Zero mosque by those on the left was so unsurprising, and so nauseating. We are a nation of all religions, they chanted. We must stay true to our values, they screamed. Both of these statements are accurate. But why not defend Christianity or Judaism with that kind of passion?
If the Muslims who want to build the mosque for “bridge building” and an “interfaith dialogue” truly wanted to practice what they preach then they will move it or make it an actual interfaith center. Until then, the only bridge I see is the one that’s burning.
As Steven Schwarz, executive director of the Center for Islamic Pluralism, wrote in the August 3rd edition of the New York Post, “Traditional, moderate Islam teaches Muslims living in non-Muslim-majority societies to obey the laws and customs of the country in which they reside. They must avoid conflict with their non-Muslim neighbors whenever possible.”
You see, tolerance isn’t a one sided thing. For the extremists that want to blow us up, it doesn’t matter what we say or do. They’ll still plot to destroy us. For the many millions of peaceful Muslims, they’ll respect us more if we equally defend and apply the same standard of tolerance to all religions that we do theirs.
